Dan & Laura got married this Fall. Can you say GORGEOUS!? It was actually quite freezing all day, but the photos turned out great! Thanks everyone for being willing to stand out in the cold for Dan & Laura! I know they appreciate it! We were at Smith Gardens in Oakwood, OH before the wedding and we stopped at Hills and Dales Metropark after the ceremony for some more shots before they headed to their reception. Dan and Laura picked all the locations and they did an excellent job! Enjoy!

Nick & Jenny

I’ve been holding off posting this wedding because there was much I wanted to write about it, but I thought I’d just cut to the chase and say this wedding was probably the most FUN we had this year. This wedding was in Dayton, OH at Carillon Park. A Carillon Park wedding if you will.
They were going to get married outside, but it had rained several days before the wedding and they opted to be mud free, and just keep the ceremony inside.
We got to shoot all over Carillon Park though, and it was so much fun! The location was fun of course, if you’ve ever been their you understand, but Nick and Jenny just really made the day a blast!

I forgot to mention…Jenny was one of the most laid back HAPPIEST Brides I have ever met! It was
such a pleasure to shoot their wedding!

Summer S.N.A.P. Shoot

clock January 28, 2010 14:19 by author Shannon

I am part of a S.N.A.P. group here in Dayton, OH. (Social Networking Among Photographers)
This summer we got together down at Darrin Ballman’s Studio in Springboro, OH. We had a practice shoot, then hung out with each other for awhile.
It’s always great to practice in a non-pressure situation. It’s also great to learn from and watch other photographer’s do their thing.  You can NEVER know it ALL about your work, art, etc…
and you CAN always learn more. Here’s a few shots from the couple that volunteered to have about 15-20 photographers following them all around shooting them!
Thanks Hannah & Nosa!

Tim & Amanda Rock The Dress!

clock October 9, 2009 09:17 by author Shannon

Rock The Dress! That’s right! This session is what a lot of people call “Trash the Dress” and I have re-named it because I don’t like the name “Trash the Dress” It’s too negative. We took this opportunity to shoot however we wanted, as creatively we could to show off Tim & Amanda, the location and of course The Dress! We want to give respect to the beauty of the dress, those who chose it and paid for it. I am hoping the name will spread because it’s a lot more fun and positive!Let me know what you think!

I LOVE ROCKIN’ the DRESS!!!!

We took these the next morning before Tim & Amanda headed off to their honeymoon!

Thank you Tim & Amanda for putting up with all my ideas! It was so much fun, and I am so happy with how it all turned out.

For all those wondering – Amanda’s dress DID get dirty . It wasn’t until she got IN the ocean, but once she got out of the pool, it was as clean as could be. Her dress dried out before her mom took it back to the states, and I was told it didn’t smell like sea-water, and seems as clean as can be.

Tip for Photographers: Plan out your shoot in the order you want to shoot locations, once the hair is wet, there is no going back. It worked well for us. ALSO, end in the pool, and hopefully it will wash away most of the mess the rest of the shoot may have caused!

SO fun! Thanks again!
